Vallience Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 13 August 2026

Our commitment

Vallience is committed to making its competitor intelligence platform accessible to as many people as possible, including users with disabilities. We aim to follow the recognised accessibility standards to the extent reasonably possible for a service of our size and nature.

Scope of this statement

This statement covers the Vallience web application, including:

  • Public legal pages (Privacy Notice, Terms of Use, Scanning Notice, Cookie Notice, Accessibility Statement)
  • Registration and sign-in
  • Password recovery
  • Onboarding
  • Adding and confirming a competitor
  • Scan progress and status
  • Dashboard and competitor detail
  • Assessment and report views
  • Account settings
  • Terms acceptance gate
  • Privacy request form

This statement does not cover third-party content that Vallience links to but does not control, such as competitor websites accessed via evidence source links.

Target standard

This statement and the underlying audit use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, Level AA, as the reference standard.

Current compliance status

Based on the internal audit conducted on 13 August 2026, Vallience is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This means that some aspects of the application meet the standard, but not all. We do not claim full compliance or formal certification.

The audit identified issues in the following areas, which have been addressed:

  • Missing skip-to-main-content link — fixed
  • Route changes not announced to screen readers — fixed
  • Scan status changes not announced via live regions — fixed
  • Form errors not programmatically linked to fields — fixed
  • Spinning indicators not respecting reduced-motion preferences — fixed
  • Legal page table-of-contents links not moving focus to section headings — fixed
  • Terms acceptance dialog lacking keyboard focus containment — fixed
  • Privacy request form lacking an error summary with focus management — fixed
  • Supplementary text using colour contrast below the 4.5:1 minimum — fixed
  • Form input border contrast below the 3:1 minimum for non-text UI components — fixed

Known limitations

The following limitations are known and disclosed honestly:

  • No independent third-party accessibility audit has been conducted. All review was performed internally by Vallience.
  • The application has not been tested with any assistive technologies (e.g. JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Dragon NaturallySpeaking). All findings are based on source code review only; no browser-based interaction, keyboard, or screen-reader testing has been performed yet.
  • Some data tables on the dashboard and competitor detail pages may require horizontal scrolling at very narrow viewport widths (320px or equivalent to 400% zoom on a standard screen). This has not been confirmed by browser testing.

Workarounds and alternative access

If you have difficulty using any part of the Vallience application, you can:

  • Contact us by email at info@vallience.co.uk and we will provide the information or service you need in an accessible format.
  • Use the keyboard shortcut Tab to navigate to the “Skip to main content” link on any page.
  • Adjust your browser’s zoom level up to 200% for optimal readability. Most content remains usable at 400% zoom.
  • Enable your operating system’s reduced-motion setting to disable non-essential animations.

Requesting assistance

If you need assistance using Vallience, or if you would like to report an accessibility problem, please contact us:

Please include a description of the issue, the page or feature affected, and what you were trying to do. We will respond to let you know we have received your report and what we plan to do.

Reporting an accessibility problem

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of Vallience. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please email info@vallience.co.uk with the subject line “Accessibility feedback”.

We have not published a specific response-time commitment for accessibility reports. We aim to acknowledge receipt promptly and to address reported barriers as resources allow.

How the application was tested

The application was tested using the following methods:

  • Source code review against WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria
  • Semantic structure and landmark review (source level)
  • Focus management and dynamic content announcement review (source level)
  • Colour contrast calculation of text and interactive elements (WCAG 2.x relative luminance formula applied to source hex/HSL values)
  • Backend function testing of the privacy-request endpoint (15+ test cases covering valid submission, validation failures, abuse prevention, duplicate suppression, and concurrent duplicate reconciliation)

Browser-based interaction testing, keyboard-only navigation testing, screen-reader testing, automated accessibility tool testing, and visual inspection at various zoom levels have not yet been performed. All findings are inferences from source code, not confirmed results. No independent third-party audit has been conducted.
